In the midst of the charming wine village of Abtswind, the story of a new winery began in 2020. With the founding of Winzerhof Krauß Abtswind, Michael Krauß is already fulfilling his dream of producing his own high-quality wines. Characterized by the location of the vineyards, the soil on which our vines grow, and the climate, each of our wines develops its own character. We have made it our mission to combine tradition and modernity in unique wines. For every occasion, for every customer, always just the right thing. Our motivation consists of fresh ideas and daring to step out of line. We are the first winery in Franconia to age wines in a ReBarrique. This is a square wooden barrel that, unlike conventional round wooden barrels, lasts 75 years instead of 3, thus significantly conserving resources. In addition, we place great importance on promoting and preserving biodiversity in the vineyard. Among other things, we create flowering strips and stone walls, plant trees, and aim for certification as both an organic and climate-neutral winery.
