The winery is located in the municipality of Schweigen-Rechtenbach (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Schweigener Sonnenberg. The varieties Riesling (about one third), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer are cultivated with a planting density of about 6,000 vines per hectare. Half of the area is located on French territory in Alsace, which earned the owner the nickname "The Border Crosser". Open borders, the Weinhof Scheu has them. Half of its vineyards are in France, in neighbouring Alsace. So they are border crossers in the geographical sense. They also cross or move borders with their ideas in the production of their wines.
