Today, the Wöhrwag winery cultivates around 19 hectares of vines that rise from the sunny Neckar valley on the slopes in
Untertürkheim from the sunny Neckar valley. They are located on the slopes of the
Mönchberg, the Altenberg and the Herzogenberg; the latter is the sole property of the winery
Estate. The vines grow preferentially on gypsum keuper soils.
Hans-Peter Wöhrwag's main focus is on Riesling (with a share of over 40 per cent)
Per cent). The rest is divided between the white wine varieties Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc
Blanc. The red wine varieties are Blauer Spätburgunder, Lemberger, Dornfelder, Merlot, Cabernet
Sauvignon and new Weinsberger Cabernet varieties are cultivated.
Natural cultivation is another argument in favour of the wines, but also for the winegrower's love of nature
The winemaker's love of nature. High yields are deliberately avoided in favour of quality. This
this requires a great deal of effort in the vineyard and means losses in some
