Weingut Weishaar
Info:
We have lived and worked in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl for several generations, in the heart of the most beautiful wine region. Authentic wines are already being produced here in the 2nd generation.
Corinne & Markus Weishaar will take the reins of the winery from 2021. Of course, they will be actively supported by Markus' parents Gaby & Karl-Heinz. Today's winery grew out of a mixed agricultural business in 1989. We currently cultivate 7 hectares of vineyards.
Our work with nature is consciously sustainable, because the Eichstetter Herrenbuck is located in the Kaiserstuhl nature reserve. We do not use herbicides, insecticides or botryticides. Instead we set priorities such as: Species-rich cover crop, mechanical understock cultivation, 100% manual harvest, respect & responsibility in the vineyard, gentle processing of the grapes in whole bunch pressing. In addition, we give our wines the time they need to reach perfection.
The site: Eichstetter Herrenbuck. Volcanic weathered soils meet calcareous loess. A loess layer up to 40 m thick can only be found at Eichstetter Herrenbuck and ensures optimal aeration and water supply of the soil. As one of the warmest regions in Germany, we find ideal climatic conditions for viticulture in Eichstetten.
No wine without passion & origin. Simply 100% Kaiserstuhl. Our wines are a total package of nature - soil, climate, grape variety - and us, who give the wine its character.
Estate wines & local wines are fruit-driven, typical of the variety, filigree and matured in stainless steel tanks. The single vineyards are from old vines, from the heart of our plots, spontaneously fermented and matured in wooden barrels.
