Ritterhof Weingut-Tenuta
Info:
The winery is located in the wine village of Kaltern (Caldaro) on the South Tyrolean Wine Road No. 1, in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol (Trentino-South Tyrol region). The winery was founded in the 1960s and has been owned by the Roner family from Tramin an der Weinstraße since 1999. Managing director Ludwig Kaneppele and cellar master Hannes Bernhard are passionately dedicated to the production of wines typical of the region
The microclimate and the different soil conditions in the area in the sunny south of South Tyrol are ideal for the cultivation of different grape varieties. The 9 hectares of the estate's own vineyards and the approximately 30 hectares of vineyards belonging to contracted winegrowers are home to a wide variety of soil conditions. From gravelly, barren moraine soils, heavy loamy clay soils, steep slopes to loose, easily heated sandy soils.
The philosophy of Ritterhof is based on 3 pillars and is closely linked to the 3 lines of the winery, Terra, Collis and Rarus. Terra- the down-to-earth ones, stand for closeness to nature, the importance of the terroir and the soil conditions. Only environmentally friendly and gentle cultivation produces wines typical of the region. Collis- the chosen ones. Symbol of nature, of growth. Selected sites provide for structured, elegant wines in the glass. Rarus- the treasures - the treasures, the result of excellent vintages and perfect craftsmanship - a homage to the grapes.
