The microclimate and the different soil types in the sunny southern region of South Tyrol are ideal for cultivating various grape varieties. In the 9 hectares of the estate's own vineyards and the approximately 30 hectares of vineyards contracted with winemakers, one can find a variety of soil types. From stony, barren moraine soils, heavy clay soils, steep slopes, to loose, easily warming sandy soils.
The philosophy of Ritterhof is based on 3 pillars and is closely linked to the 3 lines of the winery: Terra, Collis, and Rarus. Terra - the grounded ones, represent a connection to nature, the importance of terroir, and soil types. Only environmentally friendly and gentle cultivation produces regionally typical wines. Collis - the selected ones. A symbol of nature and growth. Selected locations ensure structured, elegant wines in the glass. Rarus - the treasures - the precious results from excellent vintages and artisanal perfection - a tribute to the grapes.
