Weingut Franz Türk
Info:
Franz Türk is one of the most established Veltliner producers in the country. The two-time Grüner Veltliner Grand Prix victory, the induction into the Hall of Fame in London and numerous international awards impressively confirm this.
Grüner Veltliner, from light, fresh summer wines, to the classics from Loess and Urgestein, to the multi-layered Erste Lagen wines, are his passion. The sweet wines are also a special insider tip. Veltliner dominates with over 75% of the vineyard area, about 50% of which is exported. The current estate was acquired in 1836 and has been expanded from generation to generation
With the 2016 vintage, the Türk family was the first winery worldwide to introduce a bottom label. Each variety is now given a specific colour according to the colour of the soil or fruit found in the wine, the stronger the colour, the richer the wine. The "Erste Lagen" wines are marked in the colours gold, silver and bronze. This makes his wines easily recognisable to all by an unmistakable mark on the bottom of the bottle in the wine rack or climate cabinet.
