OUR WINERY
WELCOME TO THE PHILIPP WINERY IN ALBIG.
TWO GENERATIONS - ONE COMMON GOAL
Both generations live and work on the winery. Together we are a strong team. Reinhold Philipp's years of experience and Alexander Philipp's innovative thinking come together here.
Our philosophy relates to a considerate approach to nature in order to create great and interesting wines from the grapes.
The Philipp winery from Albig in Rheinhessen is located in the district of Alzey-Worms. In the "village of wine", as Albig is also called, the winegrowers are passionate about creating great terroir wines. Reinhold and Alexander Philipp from Weingut Philipp are among them.
It all began in 2000. From a mixed farm with viticulture and agriculture, the Weingut Philipp in Albig was born. To produce bottled wines in their own wine cellar was the goal of Reinhold Philipp, who is assisted by his son Alexander with his innovative thinking. Vinifying wines with character and personality is their "vision of wine". The optimal location in the charming Rhine-Hessian hills around Albig contributes to this.
Getting the best out of the grapes is the motto. At the same time, care is taken to treat nature with respect. Father Reinhold Philipp brings his many years of experience to the table, while son Alexander is dynamic and attaches great importance to innovation. The portfolio of Weingut Philipp in Albig includes white, rosé and red wines, mulled wine and grape juice. Aromatic drops that reflect the high-quality workmanship of Reinhold and Alexander's wines.
The grapes for the wine personalities of Weingut Philipp thrive in the hillside vineyards Hundskopf, Homberg, Schloss Hammerstein and Römerberg. The soil here consists mainly of the marl, sand and limestone typical of Rheinhessen. This produces mineral and multi-faceted wines. The white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner and Silvaner are cu...
