Weingut Josef & Philipp Bründlmayer
Info:
In the change of generations
The grandfather started with farming, cattle breeding and a few grapes that were delivered to the cooperative.
The spark ignited in the father: what began in 1980 as sideline viticulture became a destiny in 1990. Without a pump, without a press and without experience, but with a lot of enthusiasm and conviction, very good wines were produced. Over the decades, the farm became an esteemed wine-growing business. Small and yet very fine, with top-tended vineyards, run by people to whom family means everything.
in 2015, the son took over the business and here, for the time being, the circle closes and the red thread leads back to passion: Philipp Bründlmayer, after a well-founded education and with an open view of the world, left hardly a stone unturned. New labels, new wines, new style - but: self-drive. The love of wine, of the craft, of family tradition. So the foundation for many more good vintages has long been laid.
What
"Without frills and
and double bottoms, but with the
unmistakable signature of Philipp Bründlmayer. Origin with style
Our wines are allowed to show unvarnished where they grew up. On 25 hectares we cultivate
over 100 different vineyards and microclimates. A diversity for which our personal approach to wine is the binding link. The estate, regional and local wines are matured in steel tanks, the single vineyard wines in wooden barrels. Depending on the vintage. We appreciate alternative wine styles, we like to drink sweet wine, we also like to drink sparkling wine - but we only make what we are really good at: Dry Veltliners, Rieslings, Neuburger and co.
Where
In Grunddorf, in the last corner of the Kamptal, our wine is stored and matured. Here, steel tanks keep the large wooden barrels company. And because good wine is only made in a perfectly organised environment, we run our winery with meticulousness and a sense of detail.
Our wine, however, has its origins on the mighty loess terraces of Ged...
