Weingut Neiss GbR
Info:
At Weingut Neiss, we produce mineral-straightforward Rieslings and animating Burgundies from the limestone-dominated altitudes of the cool Northern Palatinate! Naturally, our wines benefit from a certain coolness and the westerly wind, which ventilates the wind-exposed vineyards well and extends the growing season.
The result: moderate alcohol levels, great depth of flavour, fully developed aromas and a refreshing acidity structure.
The high and clearly visible lime content of the soils has a decisive influence on the dense, compact and powerful Palatinate wines we produce thanks to our extremely natural approach and the extra portion of manual labour. Our wines are characterised by fresh elegance and animating lightness paired with clarity and straightforwardness.
Sustainable management has long been at the top of our agenda. In the mid-1990s, we actively converted the winery to controlled, environmentally friendly viticulture.
The decision to join the FAIR'N GREEN association was made in 2013, and we are one of ten founding members with the membership number 007. The motivation for this sustainability seal lies in the fact that FAIR'N GREEN, unlike others, analyses and highlights the entire value chain in terms of sustainability aspects. The certified wineries take responsibility for people, nature and the climate with concrete measures and continuous improvement processes.
Since 2021, the winery has been one of the few wineries in Germany to be certified CO2-neutral via "Save Climate", the climate protection initiative of Fair and Green e.V. This initiative pursues a very specific goal: the transformation of the entire value chain and the entire agricultural sector towards a consistent reduction in CO2 emissions through innovative and practicable solutions.
