Weingut Max Schell
Info:
The Max Schell winery is located in the municipality of Rech in the German wine-growing region of Ahr. Today, the tradition-oriented family winery is run in the 3rd generation by the grandson of the founder, Wolfgang Schulze-Icking and his wife Katarina. The future 4th generation, daughter Annika, is completing her bachelor's degree in viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim after completing her apprenticeship as a winemaker.
The vineyards cover 3 hectares of vineyards, which are located in the single vineyards Rosenthal and Silberberg (Ahrweiler), Pfaffenberg (Walporzheim), Burggarten (Dernau), Herrenberg (Rech), Mönchberg (Mayschoß).
They are planted with 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Frühburgunder, 8% Riesling, 5% Chardonnay and 2% Portugieser.
The philosophy of the winery is absolutely quality-oriented in grape production, in biodynamic harmony.
Wolfgang Schulze-Icking is passionate about winemaking.
This is how unique Ahr-Burgundies with a special class are created in the cellar.
