Info:
Weingut Sommer - What amazes us inspires us.
Our family has been growing grapes in Donnerskirchen, on the south-eastern slopes of the Leithagebirge (northern Burgenland), since 1698. The continental Pannonian climate on the Leithaberg, with warm summers and cool nights, is the prerequisite for our wine culture. Lake Neusiedl with its temperature-balancing effect additionally favours the conditions for viticulture
It is similar to a mature love, we feel connected to our region. We let nature inspire and cheer us on. We trust it and we pass on this reliability. As wine craftsmen - that's how we see ourselves. We see this craft as a constant dialogue between our hands and our heads, combined with years of experience. We are committed to this freedom and it characterises our wines. Wines that can be described as intensely fruity, spicy-mineral, elegant as well as powerful and with multi-layered aromas. In addition to a multitude of varieties, autochthonous grape varieties thrive, which find ideal conditions on the barren slate slopes of the Leithaberg.
