Weingut Hubertus M. Apel
Info:
The Burgundy winery of the Moselle.
It didn't happen overnight that we were the first winery on the Moselle to cultivate the entire range of Burgundy grape varieties. Names such as Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay make every wine lover's heart beat faster. As full-bodied wines full of character, they delight every wine connoisseur and represent an absolute alternative to Chablis. Elegance, subtle fruit with plenty of structure, fine acidity and a balanced body characterise these wines.
Our winery, which is one of the most modern on the Moselle, is also one of the pioneers in the marketing of dry Elbling wines. Lots of freshness, minerality and fruit characterise our Elbling wines. 2000 years of Elbling, and this tradition obliges..
Our guiding principle is therefore today and in the future:
"Elbling by tradition - Burgundy by passion"
After more than 30 years of successful collaboration between the two brothers Harald and Hubert, the fourth generation took over the management of the winery in 2016/17 with the brothers Matthias, Johannes and Philip.
After several stints in Germany, Oregon (Chehalem), California (Stag's Leap) and New Zealand (Peregrine), cellar master Philip Apel was able to refine his own wine style further and further. Powerful character wines and yet full of elegance and lightness.
