Weingut Feldtheorie
Info:
The name field theory is derived from physics, where it describes the transmission of information. We also understand the vine as a unique plant that enables people to perceive the information of the soil, climate, vintage and processing method through their senses.
As we want to pass on this information as unadulterated as possible, we work as close to nature as possible in the vineyard and cellar. In the vineyard, this means as much manual labour as possible, minimal organic plant protection and a high level of biodiversity. In the cellar, the hand-picked grapes are fermented spontaneously and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
We, Ulrike Filp and Robert Bormuth, together with friends and relatives, are the people behind the Feldtheorie winery. During our scientific studies, we found our passion for wine in New Zealand, on the other side of the world. After completing our studies, we were certain that we wanted to dedicate our lives to wine and its production. After travelling in Germany, Australia and Austria, we ended up in the Wachau. When the opportunity arose to acquire vineyards in the neighbouring Kamptal, we didn't hesitate and turned our dream of owning our own winery into reality. Since then, our aim has been to reflect the origin of the Kamptal in our wines. We work hand in hand in the vineyard and cellar, make all decisions together and enjoy life to the rhythm of nature.
