Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf
Info:
A winery that has been owner-managed for generations and over 400 years is a rarity, especially in this day and age, and an immeasurable treasure that must be guarded. Thus, we are always the stewards of the heritage of our forefathers for our children.
Based on this thought, the philosophy of the winery is almost self-evident. The heritage of 15 individual vineyards, which are among the most valuable Riesling sites in the world, requires careful handling of this expensive property. Classified à la Burgundy in a four-tier system, the top sites were brought back into focus for the first time in 1994. Names such as Kirchenstück, Jesuitengarten, Ungeheuer and Pechstein began a triumphal procession that could already be read on old wine lists at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, they are once again internationally sought-after, highly rated and very rare top Rieslings of world class.
Our great endeavour is to make the high quality standards visible and tangible. By not buying in grapes or wine, we can realise our quality philosophy one hundred percent in our own product. Wherever Dr. Bürklin-Wolf is on the label, Dr. Bürklin-Wolf is also in the bottle. The production of these high quality wines is only possible with a maximum of manual work and to the exclusion of many technical possibilities. The strong hand-picked selection of grapes from the top vineyards also makes it possible to produce extremely high-quality local and estate wines.
But all this requires a very close cooperation with nature. For this reason, all vineyards have been farmed biodynamically for over fifteen years. This makes us the largest biodynamic winery in Germany and we are concerned every day with the well-being and sustainability of the vines in a healthy and sustainable environment.
The associated elaboration of the tangible origin as well as the great ripeness of our top Rieslings are thus In Focus of our actions. We speak of slow wines. What we mean by this is that we give them al...
