It all started out of love and passion for wine - in a double garage. Hence the name. The grapes grow on the edge of the Black Forest National Park in the Baden-Baden vineyards, surrounded by orchards, chestnut trees and herb meadows. Orange wine, Riesling, Merlot, Rosé and Pinot Noir, these are the wines of the founders Marc Bürkle and Uwe Link.
Their philosophy: sustainable cultivation and painstaking manual labour - no fining, no filtration: "This guarantees the best grapes and wines with a special character. We let nature do the work and you can taste it in your glass. Country wine that tastes like country." Since 2020, the winery has been producing unique and award-winning wines that delight experts and wine connoisseurs.
Marc Bürkle and Uwe Link are career changers. They have been friends for a long time, have both trained as chefs and worked in Michelin-starred kitchens. And both are convinced that expressive wine is created above all when it is given plenty of time and attention. Their aim is to use traditional methods and minimise intervention in the natural course of the process to offer wines with a strong character and outstanding quality.
Ultimately, however, the wines should not only offer a great flavour experience, but also reflect the unique diversity of the region.
They now cultivate three vineyards on their estate, mostly with old vines that they have taken over from former winegrowers. A welcome side effect: they are helping to preserve and revitalise the cultural landscape in the vineyards.
