Weingut Darting, Inh. Helmut Darting
Info:
Pure passion for wine!
The roots of the winery go back to 1780. Bad Dürkheim, with its ideal combination of an almost Mediterranean climate, the special quality of its soil and a number of top vineyards, provides ideal conditions for the cultivation of the 25-hectare vineyard.
Helmut Darting's conviction that the quality of the wines begins in the vineyards and in particular with the vines is based on the family business's decades of experience in vine refinement. The best vineyard sites and Helmut Darting's flair for successful, quality-orientated vinification result in delicately fruity Rieslings and Pinot varieties as well as aromatic Muskateller and Gewürztraminer. The elegant, full-bodied red wines of international calibre mature in large wooden barrels or small barriques. For Helmut Darting, facing up to the challenges of modern viticulture means not only perseverance, passion, quality awareness and a love of tradition, but also the introduction of "new" grape varieties such as the old French Malbec and Cabernet Franc.
Helmut Darting has received numerous international and national awards, many state and national honours as well as numerous "Grand State Honours".
