Weingut Bründlmayer Langenlois
Info:
For decades, the name Bründlmayer has been synonymous with quality. Even father Wilhelm Bründlmayer consciously practised quantity restriction in the vineyard with the "Bründlmayer cut". His son Willi went one step further by introducing the revolutionary "Lyra education".
The same care and restraint prevails in the cellar: the grapes are always harvested by hand only and pressed extremely gently with pneumatic presses.
The winery produces Grüner Veltliner, Riesling (including 10 ha in the most famous site "Zöbinger Heiligenstein"), Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay as well as Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and St. Laurent on 70 ha of vineyards - most of them planted in terraces.
Since 1989, Willi Bründlmayer has been producing his "Bründlmayer Brut", a hand-shaken sparkling wine made from Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, every year. According to Stuart Pigott's "Best Sekt Guide", "perhaps the best sparkling wine in the German-speaking world".
