Info:
We are the first generation of winegrowers. Since 2014, we have been cultivating 1.5 hectares of organic terraced vineyards in Klingenberg Schlossberg and Großheubach Bischofsberg. We are convinced of the potential of the vineyards: old vines, terraces and red sandstone soils. They are composed of 1/3 Sylvaner, 1/3 Spätburgunder, 1/6 Riesling and 1/6 Portugieser.
For us, organic terraced viticulture means concentrating the work in the vineyard and reducing it in the cellar. This includes sustainable soil cultivation with hoe and tiller, sowing of summer and winter greenery, careful pruning and foliage work, and late harvesting in small boxes. It goes without saying that we do not use weedkillers. We want to recultivate the soil life, promote biodiversity and increase the biodiversity in the vineyards to a maximum. Vinification in the cellar is reduced to a minimum. Long maceration times, gentle pressing, no fining, sulphur additions far below the permissible limit, long lees ageing and late bottling are all part of the process right from the start. Regionality, typicality and authenticity are of great importance for our wines.
We cultivate all vineyards ourselves and do not buy in grapes, must or wine. It is a matter of course for us to produce the wine ecologically and sustainably.
