Wine meets Rock 'n Roll
In Austria's Weinviertel region near the Czech border, rock 'n roll plays a very big role for Ramona and René Pollak. The winemaking couple live rock 'n' roll and have always had the desire to incorporate their lifestyle into their wine.
René, together with Ramona, took over their parents' winegrowing business "Weinhof Pollak" in 2008. In August 2013, they both needed a breath of fresh air in the business and decided to turn everything on zero and put all their eggs in one basket. The Rockabilly Wine Cult was brought to life. Not only was the label changed, a brand was built on their lifestyle, which is also reflected in the wine. Great, easy-drinking wines were created, which in the meantime have also won a few prizes.
There are three different lines:
"cult wines": Wines according to the motto - "open up - have fun"
"The Intern": a tribute to our first intern - Jannik from the Palatinate and by now every year anew a praise to our staff, without whom we could not run our business. Varieties: Grüner Veltliner, Riesling & Chardonnay
"White Taste": ELIAS Rotgipfler, Chardonnay & Traminer
For these 3 wines we worked according to the "Single Vineyard" principle, which means that only the grapes from one particular vineyard are used.
In order to be able to present themselves accordingly, the two decided in December 2015 to convert the "Alte Schmiede" (Old Smithy) at the wine farm in order to use it all year round and thus the idea of the rockabilly wine cult "KABINETT" was born.
The Kabinett itself offers space for 10 people and is ideal for wine tastings in a small setting. In addition to wines, there are accessories in the style of the 50s to discover and due to a close cooperation with JOLIENTE (coffee roasting company from Detmold/DE), there is their own Rockabilly Weinkult ESPRESSO.
