Plaimont
Info:
in 1978, the Plaimont winegrowers' co-operative was formed from the merger of the three wineries of Plaisance, Aignan and Saint Mont - PLAIMONT for short. Over time, other domaines and châteaux such as Château de Crouseilles, Château Arricau-Bordes, Château de Sabazan, Château Saint Go, Château de Bascou, Monastère de Saint Mont, Domaine de Cassaigne etc. joined the co-operative. The 800 winegrowing families cultivate around 5,300 hectares of vines. Plaimont attaches great importance to tradition as well as the authenticity and originality of its wines. Typical regional and autochthonous grape varieties are cultivated. The ancient vineyards (some of which are 180 years old) and the commitment to old, forgotten grape varieties such as Manseng Noir and Tardif should be emphasised. Since 2002, Plaimont has been running the Conservatoire ampélographique, a grape variety conservatory with 116 different local grape varieties.
