Pfaffenweiler Weinhaus
Info:
Pfaffenweiler Weinhaus is a small winegrowers' cooperative located 10 km south of Freiburg im Breisgau and named after the wine village of the same name, Pfaffenweiler. A variety of different grape varieties are cultivated on an area of 95 ha. The regional speciality is the Gutedel (Chasselas), which produces light, drinkable and particularly digestible white wines. Also cultivated are the Baden Burgundy classics such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, which are particularly popular as accompaniments to food thanks to their powerful and full-bodied character. For years, the flagship has been the Sauvignon Blanc (Muskatsylvaner). With this grape variety, the small winery has been the quality leader in Baden for years. National and international prizes are won here every year. The range is rounded off with wines from the Merlot grape. In addition to the full-bodied and smooth red wines, rosé and Blanc de Noir are also produced here. Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe, Muskateller and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown in small quantities. The Pfaffenweiler wine house has been ranked among the best producers in the most important wine guides for years.
