The Pago Finca Élez was founded in 1992, created with the aim of being a unique Spanish wine of high quality. By 2000, Finca Élez was the first winery to be named "Vino de Pago", a classification given to wineries that produce a unique wine with specific characteristics that highlight quality and exclusivity.
By 2020, a couple of agronomists, fond of the countryside, agriculture and wine, took the reins of these vineyards, which passionately seek a new impetus also remembering one of the grandfathers who, like him, had a winery.
Our vines are on 96 acres in 4 plots, our key varietals are: Tempranillo, Cambernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viogner.
Our wines are characterised by our terroir, the result of extreme climates, from long periods without rain and low rainfall, winters of low temperatures and summers of high temperatures, to warm days with freezing nights. In addition to this, our soils are shallow, clayey and chalky with a sandy clay texture, which makes them poor in organic matter; however, the high quality of the stones favours good drainage and regulates the vigour of the vines.
The viticulture and winemaking that we do stands out for being organic, adapted to the varietals and handcrafted.
We have been ECO certified since 2014 and we strive to make our production innovative and sustainable. All the energy consumed at Finca Élez is totally green and generated by a photovoltaic plant, in addition, we have a water care plan for the local aquifer that is nearby. Both are part of our commitment to a more sustainable world.
Our team of winemakers, Carlos Sanchez and Javier Garcia advise and provide their vision and style to the wines, together with Miguel Angel Benito, the Technical Director in charge of viticultural management and oenology.
