Info:
The Renchtal is a small but fine wine region in the wine-growing area of Baden, the warmest region in Germany. Twenty Oberkirch winegrowers joined together in 1951 to form the Oberkircher Winzergenossenschaft. 450 hectares are cultivated in the first-class steep slopes with up to 60% inclination. The extremely granite-rich, mineral-rich soil combined with the special microclimate are unique prerequisites for exceptional red and white wines, especially the classic varieties Pinot Noir, Riesling and Pinot Gris. The noble wines are based on strict quantity discipline and grape selection in the vineyard and gentle vinification in the wine cellar.
Many national and international awards (among others the strict red wine award of the magazine "Vinum", the award "Best Cabernet Sauvignon from Germany" or "Best Baden Winegrowers' Cooperative 2005") confirm the high quality level. Oberkircher wine has also been served in the White House in Washington and at the UN General Assembly in New York.
