Recognised in the USA as the pioneer of unfiltered wines, Newton Vineyard is committed to transforming grapes of uncompromising quality into wines of elegant character in harmony with nature. Newton Vineyard was founded in 1977 based on the vision of Dr Su Hua and Peter Newton. They were the first to recognise the potential of Spring Mountain as a premier wine growing region. The elevation of Spring Mountain protects the vineyards from the drying heat on hot days, but the slopes are very difficult to farm and extremely labour intensive. The reward is very aromatic grapes. Newton's portfolio is divided into 3 categories:
- "The Puzzle": The highly selected Bordeaux produced only in very small quantities
Assemblage
- "Unfiltered Chardonnay" and "Unfiltered Merlot": The unfiltered, terroir-driven and gently
terroir and gently vinified
- "Red Label": A fruit-driven and accessible Chardonnay
In Robert Parker and other ratings, ninety percent of the wines achieve top scores in the 90+ point range.
