lichti & astroh that is us: Winemaker couple Freya Lichti and Alexander Strohschneider. lichti & astroh is our joint wine project that we have been working on since 2018/19 in Laumersheim in the Palatinate.

Since 2022, we have been able to lease our own vineyards with old, non-consolidated plots on limestone rock in Leistadt (Bad Dürkheim). On 10 hectares, we cultivate Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay organically, and in the next step, biodynamically. Since summer, we have also been a member of Ecovin, a federal association for ecologically operating wineries in Germany. Our winery can be found in Herxheim am Berg, in an old estate, where we can age our wines for several years in wooden barrels in old deep vaulted cellars.

English: We are lichti & astroh (Freya Lichti & Alexander Strohschneider), a small winery in the Palatinate region that is still in its startup phase. We work according to organic guidelines (still in the process of converting) and we only have fully fermented wines in our range. They are all spontaneously fermented, unfiltered, and only slightly sulphured - also known as 'low-intervention' wines. We also attach great importance to the vineyard and the grape variety which should be expressed as purely and authentically as possible.
