The Domaine de Bosc Long estate
The estate was founded in 1855 by a great opera lover. Since 1970, Domaine Bosc Long has been under German ownership. The vineyard is located 60 km northeast of Toulouse in the heart of the Gaillac wine region. The vineyards cover an area of over 50 hectares, situated on the hills of the municipality of Cahuzac-sur-Vère. At the beginning of the 20th century, the vineyard was generously expanded. The beautiful vaulted cellars, which were built from the bricks of the Tarn region, date from this time. A cooper for the production of wooden barrels was employed full time at that time.Today, internationally known grape varieties can be found at Bosc Long, as well as the regional varieties that are specifically grown in the Gaillac region. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Loin-de-l'oeil, Muscadelle and Mauzac are grown as white wines, Merlot, Braucol, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Duras and Prunelard as red wines on clay and chalky marl soils.
