The Cantina Kaltern is a winegrowers' cooperative with 650 members who cultivate a total of almost 450 hectares of vineyards
It was formed from the merger of the original four winery cooperatives in Kaltern. The Erste Kellerei and Neue Kellerei (founded in 1900 and 1925 respectively) had already merged in 1986 to form Erste+Neue
merged to form Erste+Neue. In 1992 the Bauernkellerei had merged with the Jubiläumskellerei (founded in 1906 and 1908 respectively) to form the Kaltern Winery. The final step towards a joint winery took place in 2016.
Today, Cantina Kaltern is an ambassador for the wines from the area around Lake Kaltern and for Lake Kaltern as a variety in particular. Their wines stand for carefree and relaxed enjoyment and the attitude to life in this unique region. The winery actively contributes to the preservation of traditions, the cultural landscape and family-run agriculture in Kaltern
