The Buchnerhof houses the meeting place of the Elisabeth and Helmut Uhl Foundation (http://eh-uhl-stiftung.org), and the vineyard is grouped around the meeting place. Acidic porphyry soils produce wines that are very different from the typical South Tyrolean Pinot Noirs from the Mazon region, which grow on limestone and are usually powerful and rich in alcohol. They are stored in very special barrels https://www.noir-buchner.com/unser-fass, which were created from physical considerations regarding the diffusion of wine and oxygen within the oak/wine interfaces.
