For us, wine is a journey that we prepare, that we study, that we wait for and that never ends, that gives us different colours and flavours every year and that enriches the experience of working in the cellar with unique sensations and values, from the land that produces it to the people who seek it out. The typicality of our wine reflects that of the land from which it comes and is the result of a skilful use of tradition and technology. Wine is a series of details that mature into an extraordinary experience only through daily attention, constructive dialogue between the various professionals and passion. We harvest by hand because the plant, like the earth, needs time and rest 1978 The history of the Gambino family dates back to 1978, when Vittorio Raciti bought the land by combining several plots belonging to different owners. He soon converted the various plots to the sole cultivation of vines and shared his passion with his wife Maria Gambino. 1980 - 1990 Between the 1980s and 1990s, months of excavations changed the morphology of the land, giving rise today to one of the most beautiful terraces on north-eastern Etna, covering an area of 8 hectares in the Petto Dragone area. 2002 In 2002, the three descendants Maria Grazia, Filadelfo and Francesco Raciti Gambino, together with their mother Maria Gambino, renovated the company and modernised wine production. Thus the Gambino winery was born. Wine tourism was at the heart of their activities, inspired by their passion for people and the joy of sharing the soul of this beautiful land. 2008 - 2011 In 2008, the winery could not be expanded because of its location in the Etna Park, a protected area, due to new regulations. With the help of private funding, the Gambino family changed the location of the winery and started the construction of the new building, which was only completed after 3 years. A huge effort that has now been repaid by the Gambino family with the production of an excellent wine with very low CO2...
