Hacienda Villarta is characterised by vines that ensure high quality grapes with high polyphenol content, due to their low stress levels
Hacienda Villarta is the name of a winery located near the Alberche in Escalona (Toledo), just 84 km from Madrid. The winery, with its spacious elaboration rooms, is located in the middle of our 378 hectares of land, cultivated with vineyards and olive trees. The winery houses bright and cosy hospitality rooms, a wine shop, a tasting area, a restaurant and multifunctional spaces.
Since we have our own vineyard, from the very beginning the production has been focused on achieving the desired wine. This, together with the high technology of elaboration, allows us to obtain the wine within the parameters of its corresponding category.
In our cellar there is a custom of favouring the maceration of the must with the skins. This allows a proper extraction of wine phenols, which will surprise you later in the glass.
The weather of our region, with its cool night breezes, warm daylight, long cold winters, irregular rainy seasons and strong temperature fluctuations, provides us with the perfect conditions to grow excellent vineyards. In addition, the low output of our vineyards guarantees grapes with a high concentration of poliphenols, which are necessary for excellent wine quality. In our large elaboration hall there are stainless steel vats with a capacity of 500 hectolitres, filtration equipment and a temperature control system.In our winery, wines are aged in almost 3,000 American and French oak barrels, which are constantly rotated using a special mechanical system patented by Villarta. The winemaking process is carried out with the most modern technical means by qualified personnel who bring their experience to the production of natural wines of outstanding quality
