13 Reben Weingut
Info:
Wines that are made by hand and grow in small-parcel sites - a real counterpoint to industrial agriculture. No tractor drives through the rows and compacts the soil. The vines are tended individually.
In the early years of 13Vines, we tended only red vines on the 45% steep slope on Dossenheim's Ölberg. They thrive, give the wine strength and structure, also thanks to the excellent loess soil with porphyry and granite weathering. Over the years, not only the vines grew, but also our small winery. New wine varieties were added. However, we remained true to the culture and tradition of natural viticulture.
Behind all that is good and beautiful is a lot of sensitivity and thought: we do without herbicides, insecticides and artificial fertilisers in favour of environmental compatibility and biodiversity.
