"13 Reben" is a small winery that cultivates vineyards on the Dossenheimer Ölberg in a natural way. With old vines and 40% PiWis, it favours sustainable cultivation. The diverse cultural landscape supports biodiversity. Eight grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Souvignier Gris and Johanniter, characterise the wine selection. Wines that are produced by hand and grow in small plots are a real counterpoint to industrial agriculture. No tractor drives through the rows and compacts the soil. The vines are tended individually.
In the early years of 13Reben, we only cultivated red wine vines on the 45% steep slope on the Dossenheimer Ölberg. They thrived, giving the wine strength and structure, thanks in part to the excellent loess soil with porphyry and granite weathering. Over the years, not only the vines have grown, but also our small winery. Behind everything that is good and beautiful is a great deal of sensitivity and thought: we do without herbicides, insecticides and artificial fertilisers in favour of environmental compatibility and biodiversity.
