Weingut Wageck-Pfaffmann
Info:
The Wageck Pfaffmann winery is now run by the 5th generation
Since 2005, the brothers Frank and Thomas Pfaffmann have been tirelessly turning the quality screw and achieved the breakthrough with the first WAGECK vintage in 2012. WAGECK became independent as a premium line and is now gradually replacing the old traditional PFAFFMANN line
Planting the best Burgundy clones in the 90s and early 2000s laid the foundation for today's success
But from 2012 onwards, the wines tasted even more profound and valuable. The reason: extremely low yields (Pinot Noir single vineyards between 15-25hl, Chardonnay single vineyards 30-35hl), rigorous selection of the grapes at harvest, repeated selection at the sorting table, very cloudy fermentation for the whites and 100% spontaneous fermentation for white and red wines from local wine upwards (estate wine in part or partly also up to 100%).
The inclusion in the Eichelmann wine guide with 3 stars and in the Gault Millau with 3 grapes makes the family proud and spurs them on to produce wines of very good quality. High ratings, even on the very "critical" portal Wein-Plus.de, have also been pure motivation since their participation.
