We are proud of this and would like to use the following short chronicle to illustrate our business philosophy, which is still characterised by the principle: "Preserving tradition and yet breaking new ground".
In 1910, the current location of our winery with its large cross-vaulted cellar was acquired from our ancestor, the master baker Kaspar Bibo, in order to enable an expansion of the wine production.
Through the further purchase and leasing of vineyards, the operational area of our winery steadily increased.
My father's love of Pinot Noir prompted him to plant the first vineyard in Kiedrich in 1967.
This Pinot Noir was first offered as a Weissherbst and then, since 1983, as a red wine.
In the years that followed, the winery was expanded by developing the cellar area in such a way that a much larger area was available for storage than the 4.5 hectares cultivated at the time.
In 1985, after successfully passing my examination as a master vintner in 1983, I took over the winery together with my wife Petra, which we still run today. Since then, our winery has grown steadily to its current size of almost 10 ha.
As new grape varieties, we introduced the Dornfelder for the red wines, as well as the Pinot Gris, the Gewürztraminer and the Roten Riesling for the white wines.
Nevertheless, our main focus is still on the white Riesling, which has also won numerous awards.
In our wine tavern, where my wife Petra has been the good soul since 1987, guests are spoiled with delicious food and good wine, including a good atmosphere, of course.
This, of course, also contributes significantly to the success of our winery.
The majority of our wines are sold to private customers, but our clientele also includes restaurants and specialist ret...
