The winery in Alsheim has been owned by the Muth family since 1604 and, with vineyards between Nierstein and Alsheim, covers the centre of the Rhine-Hessian Rhine plain. From lush, ancient loess terraces with ungrafted vines in Alsheim, to stony limestone marl in Oppenheim and mineral red slate in the steep Nierstein vineyards on the famous Roter Hang, the grapes benefit from the full potential of the region's exceptional terroir.
