Info:
At the Mittelbach Winery, grown tradition meets fresh ideas. For over a century, the family in Rohrendorf near Krems has shaped the character of their wines – today led by Franz Mittelbach, supported by the experience of parents Hans and Annemarie, and further developed by Philipp as the next generation. On more than 25 hectares of loess, wines with clear origin, fine fruit, and elegant structure are created. The focus is on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, complemented by Gelber Muskateller, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Zweigelt. Influential vineyards such as the traditional Gebling, the original site Ried Schnabel, the Kremser Sandgrube, and the Breiten Rain – known for mineral-driven Rieslings – give each wine its profile. For over 30 years, ice wine has also been part of the house's DNA. Sustainability is a lived standard: certified with "Sustainable Austria", supported by modern cellar technology and the close exchange of generations – for wines that preserve history and shape the future.
