Info:
Albert Behler, a cousin of Christoph Tyrell, has been the owner since August 2012.
The vineyard covers around 30 hectares, 93% of which is Riesling and 7% Pinot Blanc in the "Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg" monopole vineyard. The wines are labelled with the globally protected, typical Hals label.
The winery is highly decorated: 1997 Feinschmecker "Winemaker of the Year"; 2005 Gault Millau "Winemaker of the Year".
Finely sloping, soft Devonian soil is the basis for highly mineralised, elegant wines, which are matured exclusively at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks.
The winery produces long-lasting, lively wines full of character and finesse.
