Battenfeld-Spanier

In the chalky and water-retaining soils around Hohen-Sülzen in the Wonnegau and in the Zellertal, I cultivate ancient sites, rediscovered and revitalized Grand Crus on ancient cultural ground. In 1991, after my winemaker apprenticeship, I founded an independent winery that has been operated organically from the very beginning. The restoration and maintenance of soil vitality is my most important goal, because only in this way can what lies far before us and will also come forever after us become tasteable: the soils.
