Familia Martínez Bujanda
Info:
Five wineries make up Familia Martínez Bujanda: Finca Valpiedra (DOCa Rioja), Finca Antigua (DO La Mancha), Finca Montepedroso (DO Rueda), Viña Bujanda (DOCa Rioja) and Cosecheros y Criadores (Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla), all of them with a common denominator: the production of wines from their own vineyards, but with the diversity and richness of very different growing areas.
In 1997 they began the construction of Finca Valpiedra, a winery set in an exceptional landscape on one of the great meanders of the Ebro on the border between the towns of Fuenmayor and Cenicero. Just two years later, Carlos and Pilar fell in love with a spectacular and unrepeatable vineyard in one of the most extreme growing areas in the country, where Finca Antigua has been located since 2003.
In 2009, the family of winegrowers decided to bottle the entire production of the rest of their vineyards in Rioja and inaugurated Viña Bujanda.
Until then focused on the production of red wines, in 2008, with the purchase of 25 hectares of vineyards of the Verdejo variety and the construction of Finca Montepedroso (inaugurated in 2012), Familia Martínez Bujanda embarked on the production of whites with the personality of a unique terroir in the heart of the Rueda DO.
