Founded in 1984 by Arturo Pelizzatti Perego, who poured into it the precious baggage of values and knowledge of four generations of winemakers, today ARPEPE is a young and unconventional company, run by his children Isabella, Emanuele and Guido and enthusiastically projected into the future.
Produced using traditional methods, without concessions to passing fashions, all of the winery's wines exalt the characteristics of Nebbiolo, the extraordinary vine variety that finds its highest expression in Valtellina, as well as in the Piedmontese Langhe.
The uniqueness of the winery is also reflected in the cellars, dug into the mountain at the base of the area known as Grumello, on the outskirts of Sondrio. Outside, above the barrels, the vineyards supported by the famous stone walls climb up to the remains of the De Piro Castle, the medieval fortress that still dominates from above the largest terraced area in Europe.
ARPEPE is celebrating 150 years of activity, an important anniversary that the company wanted to celebrate in a tangible way by creating new premises dedicated to customer reception, tasting and sales. A choice that, half a century after the construction of its underground cellar - a more than innovative solution at the time - honours the important history of this company with great consistency. Yes, because thanks to the avant-garde solutions adopted also on this occasion, the new space effectively transforms what could only be a significant birthday into an important opportunity for reflection and projection towards a future that is certainly more productive, but also more responsible.
It is from this type of consideration - as well as, naturally, from the need to welcome the ever-increasing number of connoisseurs and enthusiasts visiting the cellars in the best possible way, thus also giving due prominence to the many awards won at a national and international level - that the need arose to design new volumes that fully express the company philosophy:...
