The Schilds were already making wine around 1850. They were always breaking new ground. In the 1930s, for example, the grandfather was one of the first Nahe winegrowers to switch from barrel to bottled wine. A novelty for that time - today a matter of course.
We continue this openness to new things to this day. At Weinhaus Schild & Sohn, we concentrate on the development of the wines and also buy wines from fellow winegrowers. This allows us to react to new trends at short notice and thus surprise our customers again and again with special wines.
We love tasting our wines together with customers, because their reaction and opinion are important to us. And if you listen carefully, you will be inspired anew, just like your grandfather once was. REAL SUSTAINABILITY is a challenge for the future, in addition to the high standards of enjoyment.
Therefore, 6 years ago we started to fill everyday wines in BiBs (Bag-in-Box), as the environmental impact of traditional glass packaging is 6 times higher. Together with our customers, we have found in everyday tests that this modern packaging does not affect the quality of the wines. Quite the opposite - the packaging convinces with its light weight, compactness and 100% recyclability. With the 2020 vintage, we are going one step further and also filling our BEST wines in BiBs. We will continue to expand this offer in the future.
