The "zum Ochsen" wine tavern in Malans is more of a wine bistro than a restaurant and belongs to the Donatsch winery. Built in 1926, the Bündner Stube with its blue tiled stove invites you to linger. On the sunny balcony, with a view over the roofs of Malans to the surrounding mountains, it is particularly pleasant to relax.
In the Ochsen, you can choose from a selection of bottled wines by the glass or a tasting board with various current Donatsch wines. In addition to the top wines from the Bündner Herrschaft, wine connoisseurs will also find beautifully matured Burgundies or various wines from the flagship chateaux of the Bordelais in the walk-in vinotheque.
The menu is small but fine. Hearty regional dishes are served with wine. The classic is the hearty barley soup or the Bündnerplatte with air-dried meat specialities and spicy cheese.
